Hemachandra Vedala is a very popular playback singer and a music director and a TV anchor who works in Telugu Film Industry. He hails from Hyderabad and  known as the Hot, Handsome and Happening Hydrerabadi. His became internationally popular through Zee TV’s music competition  “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005”.Though he finished as the second runner up, he was widely acknowledged as the best singer with the most original voice. He is the First ever South Indian to become the finalist of a national-level realty show. From the time he was young, Hemachandra has performed many stage performances in the presence of eminent singers such as Lata Mangeshkar, Kumar Sanu, and A.R. Rehman.

Hemachandra was born on June 2, 1988, in Hyderabad, India, in a Telugu Brahmin family with a rich musical heritage. He is the son of Smt V. Sasikala, an accomplished singer and Nandi award winner. He got trained in Carnatic music under his mother and Hindustani music at Government Music college, in Hyderabad. He did his schooling from All Saints High school, Hyderabad and completed his Bachelors in Animation and Multimedia. He was a state skating and a swimming champion.  He is the first cousin of N.C. Karunya, playback singer. Hemachandra got engaged to Singer Sravana Bhargavi on December 9, 2012 in Hyderabad, India and got married to her on February 14, 2013.

Hemachandra has regaled audiences worldwide with his performance in USA, Canada, and Bangkok etc. He is singing playback in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayali, Kannada and Assamese films. He is most popular playback singer in Telugu film industry (Tollywood) with more than 50 films and 100 songs in his credit. He is also a successful Music Director and has composed music for the super hit film “Ride’. “Music is very important to me and I always wanted to be a singer. But I also wanted to be a composer like my role model A. R. Rehman. Composing is like giving life to words and Ride has filled me with an overwhelming feeling,” he says with pride. He has composed music for other movies like ‘Ma nanna Chiranjeevi’ and ‘All the Best’. He has released his solo Hindi film album    “ Hemachandra- The Debut Album”.

Hemachandra has sung many latest chart busters for the famous music director "Mani Sharma" in the movies 'Varudu', 'Kantri', 'Billa', 'Mitrudu', Ontari', 'Pourudu', 'Lakshyam' and 'Room Mates'. His first song from Mani Sharma is Niluvave from Lakshyam. He has sung two songs in the Yashraj banner film 'Tararumpum' for Sail Ali Khan in the telugu version under Vishal Shekhar music Direction. He has sung in the movie 'Alag' under Aadesh Shrivastav music direction. He has been nominated for the 'Best new Talent' award in Bollywood Music Awards 2006 held in Atlantic city. He has sung under Himesh Reshmiyyas direction in the movie ' Dil Diya Hai'. He has sung under Aadesh Shrivastav music direction for the movie 'Mummyji' along with Shan. He has sung under Jatin's music direction for the movie 'Ganesh' and under Lalith's music direction for the movie 'Flag'.

Albums:

Handsome Hyderabadi playback singer Hemachandra's debut Hindi album "Hemachandra- The Debut Album" was launched in Mumbai on 1 November in a glittering function at Planet M attended by several bollywood celebrities including noted music director Mr. Aadesh Shrivastava and the beautiful actress Dia Mirza. The album was produced by Frankfinn Entertainment and the music composed by Mr. Harry Anand. Speaking at the function Mr. Aadesh Shrivastava, who was Hemachandra's mentor on Zee TV's Saregamapa show, said that Hemachandra has the most original voice and that all the songs in the album especially the video song 'Tumse Judaa Hokar' have been composed and sung from the heart and will surely be a hit.. Harry Anand, known earlier for his superhit remix albums, said that with this album he has started his second innings with original compositions and was very happy to have a fantastic singer like Hemachandra launch them. Speaking at the function, Hemachandra said that they have been working very hard on the album for almost a year to make sure that the songs are very good and have his own distinctive style, and be different from other albums that are coming into the market. He also requested all his fans and well wishers to support this album wholeheartedly. After the launch of the album by Ms. Dia Mirza and Mr. Aadesh Shrivastava, Hemachandra performed the video song amid loud cheers from the press and the audience.

Hosting

Not only an amazing singer, Hemachandra also proves himself to be a wonderful host. He has been anchoring the show Sa ri ga ma pa Lil Champs hired on Zee Telugu in 2007 & 2008.. He rocks and shakes the audience with his energetic hosting. This show has the highest TRP rate up in those days.. Being a product of Sa re ga ma pa, he is showing his gratitude towards the channel by doing a perfect job as a host. He has been appreciated by many celebrities for his awesome anchoring. Presently he is one of the Judge with his beautiful wife Sravana Bhargavi in the show “Bol Baby Bol”in Gemini TV and he has anchoring that show in previous seasons.

Dubbing

Hema also proved himself to be a good dubbing artist. He did dubbing in the movie Rainbow for the main lead actor Rahul. He did dubbing for Virat Kohli for the advertisement for Celkon in Telugu version.

Hemachandra -The Music Director

After winning accolades for lending voice to soulful numbers, Hemachandra is now all set for a change in role. The 20-year-old Hyderabadi playback singer is turning a music director with Ride. talking about his musical journey into the league of his idols — A.R. Rahman, Mani Sharma and Koti — Hemachandra says he couldn’t be happier. The singer who is working with Bellamkonda Suresh in Ride, “never thought of debuting as a composer alongside such a big name”.

Singers turned anchors, Hemachandra  and Sravana Bhargavi will  soon be seen in a short film titled “ Lucky Love”. Sushanth Chinthakindi will direct the film and he has also written the script. Sravan Alampalli has written the lyrics wheraa vamsi Krishna has scored the Music. the real life couple also sang songs in this short film.
